When do they celebrate New Year in China?

Chinese New Year is celebrated on the second new moon after the shortest winter day (December 21). This falls between January 21 and February 20. The festivities continue for a fortnight and only stop when the full moon is reached. Incidentally, they also celebrate ‘normal’ New Year in China on December 31 and January 1.
