It is often said of HBO that they make the best series. That good series are not free is evident from how often HBO appears as a producer in the list of most expensive series ever made. Of the top five, three are by HBO. Namely Pacific, Band of Brothers and Game of Thrones. Netflix’s The Crown and NBC’s E.R. complete the top five.
