What is the difference between religion and mythology?

Religion is the practice of belief in a certain divine or supernatural power, while a mythology is a collection of stories and tales that explain certain traditions or events, especially those of ancient cultures. Mythologies are often linked to ancient religions, for example many Ancient Greek gods participated in the Trojan War, granting blessings to warriors on either side of the conflict.
