What exactly is the tiki-taka?

Under Johan Cruyff, FC Barcelona began to develop a style of play of intensive ball possession. Under Guardiola, this was developed into the tiki-taka, and it consisted of short passes to team members. Sometimes the ball was sent right back or forwarded to another team member. The idea was to always stay in possession of the ball and confuse the enemies.
