What are the snags in iDIN?

If something sounds too good to be true, it often is. In the case of iDIN, we can say that the promise is certainly fulfilled, but that does not mean that the application is not free of snags (this is different from snags).

For instance, ABN Amro customers have to activate iDIN first, but other banks do not have to. Within your internet banking environment, you can look back between 13 and 24 months (ASN, Regiobank, SNS) to see which companies have accessed your data.

But if you don’t want to use iDIN? Then again, the rules are different for each bank. At ABN, you can activate the app and also switch it off again, at other banks you can switch it off manually. At ING and Bunq, iDIN is simply always ‘on’.
