iDIN was developed by banks and DigID by the government. Logging in with DigID is therefore mainly done at government agencies, while you use iDIN at, for example, online shops, insurers or casinos.

iDIN is an initiative of the banking collective ABN AMRO, Rabobank, ASN, ING, Bunq, SNS, Triodos and Regiobank.

Casinos are required to identify their players. iDIN is a service provided by the banks that allows consumers to identify themselves using secure and trusted login methods from their own banks. The service works quickly and securely.

Logging in is 1 of the 3 functions of iDIN. For example, you can log in to an insurance company’s personal environment or online shop. You see in your bank’s secure environment that you are logging into the relevant company and you agree.

iDIN can be compared to iDEAL. You work from your bank’s secure environment and only the necessary details are provided. Note: do not use iDIN outside your banking environment or outside the official website.
