How gambling is sometimes intertwined with a culture can be seen in the percentages. In Asia (and here again there are a lot of differences between them), about 12.5% of the population says they sometimes gamble. In Europe it is about 4 to 5%. The continent of Africa has slightly higher gambling activity than Europe, but lower than Asia. Zoom in, and you will see that these figures quickly blur and that a gambling culture can vary from city to city. There are, however, indicators that point to more or less gambling within a culture:
